Friday Post- Jummah Mubarak everyone:) + Skin care

Hi everyone,

Salaams.
First of all, wish you all a Jummah Mubarak :).  Remember me in duahs. Swalaat does bring peace, Alhamdulillah.

Today, I will review the topical cream I bought recently.  Stieva A.  So far, the pimples are almost gone.  But they are quite sensitive.  A little bit of redness here and there, which calms down and diminish when I splash my face with cold water.

I usually use this cream at night, on alternate days.  I can surely notice improvements.  If you have sensitive skin like me, I would recommend you to use the cream like i did (alternate days).  It is also extremely important to avoid exposing your skin (where you used the cream) directly to the sun.  Using an umbrella and sunblock will do the trick :).

I will try to drink load amounts of water:p. Apart from that, I am not using any other products like not even scrubbing or using a cleanser.  I do moisturise though, ok ok not everyday:p.

You will also notice that  I have changed the template of my blog.  I like things simple:).

My next post will be a TAG.

Take care girls! :) Talk to ya soon x

Hello Beauties! August Haul

Hi everyone:)

I will talk about goodies, I purchased during this current month. Hehe!  Well, I get all excited about shopping! Like most girls, I often buy skin care products and occasionally makeups as well.  I am one who believe that a skin care regime is far more important than getting all doll-up.  However, I love to have my collection of makeups as well:).

First, I bought a lip balm.  I wanted one since long, a hydrating one, which I can glide on my lips before I go to sleep and wake up with gorgeous soft lips in the morning :p.  I chose to buy the "Labello Pearly Shine" Lip balm.

What can I say
It smells good.  Kind of moisturising. I do not like the colour (lol). Hmmm, it's not that glossy.  From that range, I liked the Original one (dark blue) and the cherry one.

Secondly, I bought a perfume, at Intermart, down Mauritius.  The name of the perfume is 'Mignonne'. OMG! Smells DAMN good!!! I have to put it on, everyday. I still love it:p.

Aneez and I also bought the 'Labello' wipes.  Value for money.  It does the job.  Specially, if one tend to get lazy to clean face at nighttime.  Really helpful hehe.

Furthermore, I bought a cream 'Stieva A', for some pimples, I get at times on ma right cheek (weird I know!).  In the past, this cream worked well for me.  So, I am hoping, it eliminates ma pimples and prevent new breakouts.

I still some stuffs on ma mind, which I cant wait to buy :p.  Shopping does great things to a girl's mind :p.

Now, your turn, comment down below about stuffs you bought this current month ;).

Until next time, Keep Smiling :)

Cyclone Warning Class 2 in Mauritius

Hi blogworld;D; hey everyone:)
There's a cyclone warning class 2 in Mauritius at this very moment!!  Please Mauritians, do take much precautions.  Do not wander outside unnecessarily.  We still haven't forgotten the tragedy due to flood on 30th March 2013.

Chicken Briyani is on the menu for dinner tonite.  I gotta relish that goodie in some time. Coincidently, when I last spoke of my menu, I was having briani :p.   No, we do not have briyani every weekend:p, just a coincidence.  Lol, made me remember!  Got to attend a wedding on the coming Saturday, again briani :p.
What's your favourite dish? ;D

I enjoy indian food as well.  We had lunch at 'Bukhara', a local resto, down Mauritius, for my friend last birthday, along with butter naan. Yummm!

What I have planned this week?
Am gonna work a bit lol; and inshaaAllah attend the talk by Tariq Ramadhan, to be held at University of Mauritius, auditorium, on the coming Thursday.  I shall blog on this:).

Weekend over!  Time flies :o.

That was a quick post!

Just watched Amenakin, the hijaabi stylist on Ytube, video 'Draw my life'.  Very inspiring.  Always place your trust in Allah (s.w.t) and have lots of patience.

Take care!  'Toodles' ;D

Makeup Brushes - How I clean them

Hi everyone!

Hoping that you all enjoying a good health.  Thank God It's Friday, many of us may exclaim:p.

Jummah Mubarak:).. I love Fridays!  Firstly, because it's jummah, where we muslims, we make ghusl ( purification), put on our nice clothes, and pray, often in congregation.   I know, what I referred to, was the Muslim female.  As for the male, it is a must to pray in congregation daily, at the Mosque.  We, ladies, can pray at home.

My friend Aneez and I, like to pray Jummah at our local mosque, as I previously mentioned (in my other posts) where we get to listen to the khutbah and pray along with other muslim sisters.  So so so peaceful overthere! MashaaAllah!

'Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest (Qur'an 13:28)'

This is one of my favourite quote from the Qur'aan.  Alhamdulillah.
So, yes, going back to the title of today's post.

Makeup brushes cleanup ;D

I used handwash to clean them, just normal handwash.  You can use any type.  They even smell good after :D.  That's the bonus hehe.

I will post pictures of the before and the after.

I believe that it's important to clean them regularly since it does build up bacteries over time.  After washing them, I blow dried them and left them to dry on their own overnight.

What's your method of cleaning them?
I am considering in getting a new set of brushes soon.  Like the whole collection.  I love makeup and enjoy applying them on special occasions.  However, I go only by my usual Bourjois Khol daily.

Enjoy the pics ;D.

Lol, sorry if you can't see much difference!  But, trust me, there are ;D.

I haven't yet used them again.  InshaaAllah soon.

What are your plans for the weekend? <3>

Take care ;D

Outfit of the Night (OOTN)

Hiii blogworld!! Hey friends :)

Here I am !  How you've been? How was your day? Oh mine was kinda okay. Alhamdulillah for everything.
I believe  that everyone go through ups and down in daily life; like our imaan gets low or high, so yea, faut faire avec :).

Yesterday, I went to a family dinner at my aunty's place.  So reached home late :).

What I wore last night: ;D

Outfit of the Night (OOTN)

Churidaar (Indian suit), colour golden brown and black.
Brown and black hijaab
Bracelets
Rings
Brown bangles
Brown and black heels from Bella Donna (my favourite shoes)

Makeup Of the Night
I used by AVON quadricolor eyeshadow kit, 'purple haze' to create a smoky purple eyeshadow look.

So, silvery white purplish colour in the inner corner of the eye, followed by purple on the middle.  Black in the crease, which I made into a V-Shape.  I blended the black with the purple to remove any harsh lines.
I then used by black khol to line my eyes and applied black mascara to my lashes.

I then applied my bourjois foundation in the colour 'beige' to my face, with a sponge.  I feel that sponge works a lot better than using a foundation brush.  I haven't yet used a buffering brush, so cannot really compare with it.  For the meantime, sponge works best for me.

I like light foundation, specially liquid one.  On top of that, I applied my Kiotis powder, by changing the technique this time. Me and oily skin :p, as you know :p.

Moreover, I completed the look with my fushsia Avon lipstick :).

Hijaab tied, in my everyday hijaab style. Pinned down everything, put on my heels and am all set to go.

We left home after maghrib and then reached there, had dinner, talked with family. Ate cake and had dessert and off we went for home.  My aunty live in the northern part of Mauritius.  So, it was a good 45 mins drive.

Reached home, checked my mails.  I then removed my makeup and slept :D. lol.

Aneez!! Create a blog too! I want to read your posts:))).

Monday - :)

Hi guys!

Hope that you have very well started this week hehe.. I know it's hard to wake up early in the morning to go to work! But well, hope you having a nice day!  It's sunny at the moment (as I peep out of my window), down Mauritius.  Great! It was raining in the morning.  The weather is quite funny these days, can't really tell if it gonna rain whole day or if it will be sunny.
My friend and I postponed our photo shoot (lol), which was due for today, since she was ill :( and also it was raining in the morning.  (Hope you get well soon, Aneez!).  Weather was not too good in the morning, so that was the second reason, we chose not to go out today.

I am on my day off today lol.  My life kind of unpredictable since am in the pastry field.  So, you kinda know how it goes.

Link to my fan page: Please Share and Order for goodies at Pains Et Délices. :)

Our cakes are far from the ones being sold at Supermarkets. We stress much on providing quality tasty goodies to our clients.  So, we make use of the healthiest, freshest ingredients, which are also Halaal and we adorn to the norms of hygiene.

What I have planned for today?

  • Tidy up my room lol
  • Clean my makeup brushes
  • Choose an outfit to wear for tonite

I will hopefully try to do all these tasks as soon as possible lol.

If you want me to do any reviews about makeup, clothes or food, let me know. :)

Feel free to drop me comments.

Take care!

Amaryllis :)

Sunday 7th April 13- Before lunch

Sorry about the weird type of post title ;D.. But that's me:).. I go by my mood hihi..

Salaam/hi/Guten Morgen!

I thought of quickly writing up a post- I find this very Hmmm Like a relaxing session!, before I have briani for lunch. Yes, Mom cooked briani today, so yea, am gonna enjoy that with the 'achards' (Pickles).

Since the weather pretty much okay now, its sunny today, my friend Aneez and I might go out this week. Some shopping, enjoying a snack outside and blabbering:p.

Hmmm, we haven't yet decided on which day and where to go.  We usually go unplanned! More exciting this way.

We also often like to go to our local masjid, it's a small mosque, so peaceful overthere, where we pray Zohr (prayer).  Love it there!  It does break up the routine and we feel so relaxed afterwards.

As I glance at the window, I think 'What an awesome day to go to the beach!' .

Aneez and I are planning to take pictures, for which I will blog about soon!

What's your favourite kind of relaxing session and where do you like to hang out with your friends or family?
Have a relaxing Sunday!

AVON Haul

Hi beauties!

Today, I am going to do an AVON Haul. Awww, my first ever Haul.   I own quite an amount of makeup, starting from eyeshadow, foundations, lipsticks to mascaras, eyeliners and all. Of different brands I must say.

I will stick to the Avon brand for this post and will blog about the rest later one. YAY ;D

Am into makeup now haha, except foundation.  I do not feel the need to cover every single blemishes.  By nature, am a natural, so am gonna stick to that.  Well, I tend do go for glamorous look for special events.  I do accessorize a lot!  Like wearing a headpiece on my hijaab or pinning my scarf with a cute pins or brooch.  I go with the flow and whatever suits my mood.

Moisturise, Powder, khol, lipstick and am ready to go. So, minimal makeup.  Nevertheless, I like to have my collection of makeup for much special functions.  I have built up quite a lot, choosing particular brands over others. Yet, I have not tried every single brand available on the market.

I believe that we all should use good brands of makeup to avoid allergies or bad reactions.  Like, I can't use any powder :/.

So, let's get started :)

*Me, going through my makeup lot and picking up the Avon's one.. :p*

I do not own much, just 7. Here's a pic :). My lipstick isn't in the future. I had it in my bag, so yeah.  Am gonna put a picture of it later on. Apart from that, I own 2 types of shower gel and a roll- on. All from Avon.

First one, from left is the eyeshadow kit, in the colour 'Purple Haze'.  It has 4 colours in it. Sorry! Having difficulties to take pics at the moment as my camera aint with me.  Am using my mom's laptop since my pc *dead* :(. So until I get a new one! Bear with me!

I will be taking clearer pics in the future :).
So yeah, I love the four colours. I can easily create a smokey purple look.  It ranges from light baby purplish colour, to slight darker, purple and black.  I can mix and match with my other pallette as well.  It does have a mirror as well. Great to apply makeup when travelling!

Second, is a lipgloss in the colour 'Pink Watermelon' from the range 'glazewear Shine'. I am obsessed with pink :D.  I wear it on top of my Fushsia lipstick if I want extra shine. But for day-to-day, I skip the gloss and wear only the lippy ;D.

Third, the black mascara.  Avon Super Magnify mascara, as stated on it.  Hmmm, when I first got it, I was skeptical.  It has a long tip with less thickness. If u see what I mean.  Mascara I've used in the past, all came with thick brush at the end.  But, fortunately, it did work for me.  I prefer that one to my previous ones.  I apply my mascara easily. It does do the job!

I love to play with eye makeup. Because I believe eyes are 'windows to our soul'. I would rather apply eyeliner than apply foundation, if you get what I mean.

Smokey eyes, combined with mascara and winged eyeliner, does the trick.

The next thing I should get is a eye primer. My eyeshadow does wear off after long hours.

Fourth, is the 'Conditioning eye makeup remover lotion'. Hmm, I use a cotton pad with this, to remove my eye makeup.  But, I do not wear eye makeup everyday.  Only when I feel like it:p.

Apart from these, love my shower gels! Got them in the range 'Avon Naturals', 'fraise & Goyave'. Which is, strawberry and guava. Smells goooooooood! Second one, I got 'Senses Mystique', Peach & Vanilla.  Love the smell again!  And finally, got the roll-on, Avon Mystique.

Oh yes! My Fushsia lipstick is my favourite of all the makeup products I stated above. It has such a nice colour.  So me! Lol!

What's your favourite and must-have among : Lipstick, mascara, eyeshadows etc..?

Makeupfully yours!

I wrap up this post, and I will see you later!

Daily ramblings- 5th Of April 13

Helloooooooooo everyone ;D

Today I will be talking about one of my craze!  I am a shoeholic! (Aneez-my crazy friend can confirm:p). Loveeee shoes, love buying them, specially the one with heels.  I like the classic ones, you know, like a unique simple design, which I can pretty dress up or down.  Got two heels with glitterz or pearls which I save for special occasion like wedding functions and all.  The rest, sandals with heels, and the gorgeous classic ones.

Recently, I bought one, in grey colour (well, I did not own any in that colour! My awesome excuse :p haha), from Orchid Shoes, which was on sale!! :D.

Speaking of that pair of shoes, made me remember, I passed by that shop the day before, not stopping, since I was in a hurry. But hoping it would still be there, the next time I get there. Well, God made my wish come true :D yayy thankss God!

THIS made me remember another incident lol, yea about shoes itself. We were at woolworth (Aneez and me), window shopping:p. We came across a cute red ballerina. 800 bucks.  But we did not buy it that day and we did regret that lol. It was soooo cute. Well, its okay..we shall get more gorgeous shoes in the future ;D.

I just need an inexpensive black ballerina and am ready to go.  It's not that urgent for the time being. Since been travelling only by car lol (akoz la pluie torrentiels :ss).

Jummah Mubarak friends :).  It's always peaceful to pray, to feel connected to God.  To thank Him for all the favours He bestowed on us. Alhamdulillah.  I am thankful for many things. For being safe in the first place.  For having food, shelter, clothes. Alhamdulillah.  Thinking of the less fortunate, do make us realise how blessed we are and so loved by Allah :).

What are you thankful for? And what's your craze? ;D

Yours Shoefully :p,
Amaryllis

Hi guys :D

Here I am, so sorry for the lack of post.. But hey ;), I've been busy with the pastry world. And yes, too some free time for myself. I deserve it, innit? :p

I did post the link to my fan page in my last post. If you haven't yet checked the fan page, here you go: Pains Et Délices . Please do like and Share :). Way to go Mauritians!

Been ytubing a bit today, came across a Mauritian Ytuber! How amazing is that? I mean, we are really getting the hang of being on the net, blogging, ytubing, moderating a fan page and lots more!

That's great! She does amazing Ytube videos, makeup tutorials, hijaab tutorials.. you know.. stuffs I like ;D.

Been to lady fly at Jumbo in the evening, been searching for a good powder. But could not find a suitable one. So, I guess I will stick to my Kiotis one, loose powder. I believe it suits my skin better. I cannot use moisturiser on its own as I got combination skin. I have to powder my skin to prevent shine and breakouts.
Normally, I use powder only when am going out. Minimal makeup! Been enjoying doing the cat eye look (winged eyeliner) and putting on my Avon Lipstick in the colour 'Fushsia'.

Lol! Sorry friends! Girls talk, I know!

Please do pray for our Mauritian friends who lost their loved ones during the flood last Saturday in Port Louis :(.  Many are at a loss! Glad that we, Mauritians, are very much supportive. Big help has been brought to them.

Oh God, please protect us all in the future! Please please peeps, be alert!

Ending this post with a question.

What's your favourite makeup brand and why? Okay that's 2 questions!

Take care & talk to you soon!!

Amaryllis :)
